Dear Cluttered Friend...

  • Start with setting objectives. Give yourself a good reason to stay motivated. Write down your key intentions (ie: making more time for family, vacation or money making tasks). Read them every day as you conquer your list of tasks.

  • Balance is also essential. Assessing your strengths and weaknesses (with productivity) before carrying out your plan - will allow you to focus on what needs improvement first.

  • Be SMART about organizing. Tackle the more manageable tasks first. You will accomplish more quicker and you will be fueled to keep going.

  • Make note of any NEW tasks that come to mind while you are doing others. But set them aside! Don't get sidetracked by what seems to be something more exciting or important to do; just put it on the list and stay focused on the tasks at hand.

  • Do what works best for you.  If you are distracted easily or generally very busy - commit to one task per day, soon enough everything will get organized.
